Originally used to assess the many waste materials that I could use to create a design object, most of the collection consists of submissions received through an open call. There is also a significant section of the paper plane collection that I found discarded. Old Metro tickets, nightclub flyers, and receipts have been transformed from waste by members of the public and now unwittingly find themselves in a collection.
