The Briggait presents 'Nigh Hylic', the first solo presentation by artist Ross Hamilton Frew. The exhibition showcases new drawings and prints created by Ross Hamilton Frew whilst at Cove Park, a residency made possible through the Craignish Trust Emerging Visual Artist Award.

Ross says of his work: "In my practice, I am guided by the parameters of the page, engaged in a pattern-making style that explores form and structure, while also emphasising the simplicity of line. I have over the last year developed a framework from which I create these geometric patterns. This method allows each surface's dimensions to dictate the resulting work, while paper such as graph adds a further dimension to this framework. Over the years, I have collected a substantial collection of paper, ranging from the graph mentioned above to ledger, lined jotters, flipchart paper, newsprint, the blank pages at the back of books, fax paper, old computer printer paper and wallpaper lining. I now have a strong base from which to work, resulting in an array of possibilities for this continued pattern making process."
